I’m Te Lian — an Asian American filmmaker based in Indianapolis, IN.

I immigrated to the U.S. from Burma (Myanmar), and my cultural background deeply informs the way I tell stories. Whether it’s a narrative short or a documentary-style piece, I’m drawn to the emotional core of every project — stories about identity, memory, and connection.

I specialize in short films, with additional experience shooting and editing wedding videos and music videos. My film journey began at Columbia College Chicago and continued at Anderson University, where I’m completing my bachelor’s degree in filmmaking. My work has been selected by film festivals including the Oscar-qualifying Heartland Film’s Indy Shorts.

I love being on set and collaborating with other creatives. Whether I'm directing, editing, or behind the camera, I aim to create work that resonates and stays with people long after the screen fades to black.
